  • What is the "model" strategy that is used?

The Model is a trend following system. It is series of entry and exit rules based on two separate techniques for entry long or short. The first part is comprised of three algorithm trigger points that are automatically triggered when the rules become true  The second aspect of the model is based on four technical data points that measure momentum and trend support.

  • Why use a system that can potentially restrict entries?

Trading is extremely fluid. A trading model that is systematic across proven methods is important, in my opinion, to allow trading under all environments. This allows me to keep emotions out of my trading.

  • How do you pick stocks for your model?

I have a scanning tool that allows me to scan symbols based on the three algorithms plus several technical measurements.  I then have to do some basic filtering which ultimately allows me to run the symbols and simply wait for an entry.

  • Do you day trade the same symbols?

Yes, I may day trade the symbols that trigger a trade. I do this based on the current market environment and the initial entry point. many times i enter as a day trade and hold some overnight as a swing trade to maximize profits and keep risk low.

  • Whats your criteria for day trading and swing trading the same stocks?

Many times the market action and/or the activity in the entries will dictate my active trading styles that combine swing trading. Also, the stocks volatility plays a big part on day to swing trading techniques.

  • How do you determine your exits and stops?

My model has a specific stop loss and initial target that is part of the "strategy"  I have running. These are based on the percent of the stocks average true range. I like to use two to three exit points I call profit targets (PT1,PT2,PT3). this allows me to maximize the stocks potential ranges and take profits as the stock moves to and through the profit targets.

  • Do you ever change your stops or profit targets?

Yes, I do allow for changing of my PT levels and / or stops. I always announce these via the alerts if I change any levels.

  • What if I need more help to fully understand what your doing?

I am always available for my customers and students. I have no problems with contacting you directly to go over details about my trading methods, styles or any other part of my trading. If this helps you make money, then I have done my job.
