Trader Interview #11: Go Big or Go Home

In the spirit of the Sang Lucci Scholarship (congratulations again to Shawn Pinckney for winning the $2,000 first prize) we’ve made our next trader interview with LAST year’s scholarship winner.

Last October Viktor Wronowski impressed us with his gritty determination in life and his balls to the wall style of trading, which we of course respect. He has stuck with us since he won the scholarship as a member of the chat and has continually attended classes.

For those that didn’t win the scholarship, you can still save $250 off our classes starting this Monday by using the coupon code “earlybird” before midnight on Saturday. Click here to go to the classes page.

Without further ado…

Viktor, tell us a little about yourself and your background.

I am originally from Germany and initially came to the US as an international student in High School at age 17. I had a blast living here and after graduating I had an offer to play college basketball and decided to stay. I hustled my way through several academic and athletic scholarships and graduated last May.

Currently, I work as a Real Estate Agent for Keller Williams in Atlanta and train people in their homes as a personal trainer. I came to the US to be successful and I love jobs that have unlimited potential based on how much work you put in. That’s why I chose Real Estate and the Capital Markets.

How did you get started trading?

I opened my first trading account with Zecco my sophomore year in College with 300 bucks I had saved up (being an international student I was not allowed to work off campus).

I started reading up on penny stocks, checking out online forums and email newsletter picks every day. I would trade before practice and check my position afterwards. Day trading with Zecco was a pain in the ass because I had to click refresh in order to get an updated chart, which I did hundreds of times during the day lol. I grew my account to a little less than 2k. Soon after, I was tired of making small gains and decided to go big and, BAM!, eventually lost it all to a pump and dump (GOIG) after being up $600.

I was pissed and quit trading for a while, but still keeping up with the markets. I eventually got a new account with Thinkorswim and started getting into options after hearing about Lucci on Profit.ly.

How did you find out about the Sang Lucci Scholarship last year?

I read Lucci’s Tweets and saw him advertise his first scholarship for the options course. I already got a free lunch on his tab, so I thought I’d give it another shot and see if I can win that scholarship! I wrote the essay telling him my life story, my motivation, and what I would do with the money I made with the help of his teachings. I’ve now attended the course 3 or 4 times.

How has it helped your trading?

This course is by far the most complete Options course on the internet. Trust me, I had my share of boring teachers and spend a lot of time researching Options guides and gurus. Pete and Lucci’s teachings helped me analyze exactly which strike price I should choose, how to calculate potential profit on out of the money options and how far out of the money I should go. I now see how the market works ‘under the hood’ and how the ‘smart money’ is manipulating the markets. All that information, coupled with the tape reading (which at the beginning, if you have played Guitar Hero long enough before, made me see numbers run down the walls) gave me everything I need to know to start trading Options. I always took notes during my trading and asked questions during the weekly webinars, which Pete and Lucci always answered. As I mentioned before, I am now attending the course several times over, because they analyze current market sentiment and explain the current market environment we are in. Therefore, I know how I should play my Options. I’m only 24 and haven’t hit it big yet but I know due to your teachings, Options will change my life someday.

?What are your short term goals?

As I said before, as an international student I was not allowed to get a job and make some money for myself. So, I used whatever I made for entertainment purposes.

Long term goals?

It’s time for me to focus on the bigger picture. I’ve lived in the US for 7 years but immigrations are really tough now to extend my current visa. The Real Estate Market is getting pretty hot and I’m saving my commissions to open up an account with Lucci’s prop firm.

My long term goal is VERY VERY VERY bold. I need to get my account up to 200k-500k in order to get an investors visa and Green Card. Go big or go home, that’s my motto and that’s why Lucci’s trading style is so perfect for me and my goals.

??Whats the best part about trading for you?

After being done with college sports, I needed to find a new high, a new way to get that adrenaline flowing. Whether it was a crazy training session or playing in front of the fans (I got extra cheers because I was the only white guy on the team) I like how exasperated your feelings can get while trading your own money, it’s funny how sweaty your keyboard can get while sitting at home in your office. hehe

You can always catch Viktor in our class sessions and in the chat. We’re confident we can help him achieve that goal, no matter how bold it is.
